If you have little kids, you already know how valuable a good indoor play space can be—especially when it’s too hot, too cold, rainy, or you just need somewhere to let the kids burn off some energy. Northwest Arkansas has quite a few options, and they’re not all the same. Some are geared toward toddlers and imaginative play, some are children’s museums, and others are big indoor playgrounds where kids can climb, slide and run.
Here are some great options for indoor play spaces in Northwest Arkansas and just across the state line that are worth checking out! If you have older kids, keep reading! Towards the end, there are four great options for older children!

Play Street Museum is a little different from a traditional indoor playground because it’s really centered around imaginative, open-ended play. The exhibits are set up like little worlds where kids can pretend, explore and use their imagination. They also have rotating activities, a Discovery Rug, an art & craft area, and a separate area with slime, pottery, and other items available as an add-on cost. This is a great option if your kids love pretend play, especially younger elementary and preschool-aged kids. My son is a HUGE fan of their recycling truck, large train area, and digger area. I love the little token they give each child to go get a free snack when playtime is done. I also love their pet Bearded Dragon named Bowser, as well as their staff. And the owner Sam is a personal friend and she is so great! It’s also a great spot to host a birthday party!

It doesn’t stick to you and it feels cool and so nice! Dozer just opened this week and it’s a GIANT indoor sandbox/construction site/sensory play space. Kids can dig, scoop, haul, build and create their own little construction-site adventures with trucks, excavators and all kinds of building toys. More Indoor Family Fun Around Northwest Arkansas
If you’re looking for something beyond a traditional indoor playground, Northwest Arkansas also has several spots where kids can jump, climb, bowl, play arcade games, and try something a little more adventurous. These are especially fun for older kids or families with a wider range of ages!
- Ozark Adventure Park — Lowell
📍 802 S. Goad Springs St., Lowell, AR 72745
💰 Admission: Ropes course + climbing wall combo passes are $35 for 1 hour, $49 for 90 minutes, or $65 for 2 hours per person. For our family with younger kids, I felt like 1.5 hours was a good amount of time to do both the ropes course and the climbing wall. My 7 year old was very happy going up alone but my husband went up with my 5 year old who wasn’t quite 48 inches yet so she needed an adult. There are staff actively working up in the ropes course that can help your kids if they get into a spot where they feel stuck or need assistance.
If you just want to do the big ropes course with no climbing wall, it’s $25/hr.
For the 11 self-belay climbing walls with NO ropes course, it’s $20/hr.
Ozark Adventure Park is a fun option for kids who are ready for something a little more adventurous! OAP features a ropes course, climbing walls, indoor zip lines, an arcade, interactive games, and virtual sports. They also have the “Sky Tykes” course for kids that are under 48 inches, as well as a cute kids play area with a slide! They also offer birthday parties and group outings.
